Pursue Love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy
(1 Corinthians 14:1)

And it will come to pass afterward, That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh, Your sons and daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions, And also on My menservants and My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. (Joel 2:28-29)

The Crossing encourages its members to continually grow in their relationship with the Lord.  As in any relationship communication is important.  We are all blessed with a God who talks with His people.  We want to hear from heaven!  The Lord speaks with us in different ways – sometimes in words we easily understand, at others with pictures, impressions, dreams, visions, etc.   Frequently, we may think we have heard from the Lord and His counsel to us is to “test every spirit" (1 John 4:1).  Truth and accuracy are important with every word we may receive from the Lord. 

 For this reason, the Crossing has developed a prophetic core group that prays about and tests every prophetic word that may have been received by its members.  The prophetic core group is composed of people who flow in gifts of the Holy Spirit who judge the prophecy based upon Biblical principles (1 Cor 14:29):

Ø      They test the spirit behind the word.

Ø      They seek to determine if the prophesy glorifies Jesus.

Ø      They evaluate if the word conforms to scripture.

Ø      They determine if the word edifies, exhorts, and comforts the Crossing Church body.

Ø      Does the prophecy seem controlling or manipulative? (Is there a hidden agenda?)

Ø      For predictive prophecy – did it come true?

 The Crossing wants to pray into every word the Lord has shared with us.   For this reason there are members who serve on a prophetic intercessory prayer team  Prophetic words approved by the prophetic core group are forwarded to the prophetic intercessors.  We want to call forth all things God has shared with through prayer.
